Stripes

A lot of stripes in this shot… Her clothes, the crosswalk, the walls… A lot of horizontality! This is one of my first shots with my new Fujifilm X100T (review to come soon!), a small camera with great possibilities.

This photo was processed in  Adobe Lightroom, with nothing but a small exposure adjustment and applying Fuji’s Black & White with Green Filter profile. After a few days with the X100T I can say its great strength is the possibility to have very good shots either directly with in camera JPEGs or juste applying the same profile in Lightroom.

Capturing the ghosts of the city. Next to the abandonned Continental Hotel, Cluj-Napoca, Romania.

Still continuing the ghosts-chasing “Commuting” series, this one has been taken next to the abandonned Continental Hotel, in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.

After a short shadow lifting in Adobe Lightroom, the rest of the job was mainly done in Adobe Photoshop for assembling some people layers and Nik Collection Silver Efex Pro for the black and white conversion.

Commuting III, Cluj-Napoca, Romania

Another item of the “Commuting” series, where I try to capture the people going to/from work as shadows. It was taken in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, on Piata Unirii, next to the Memorandum Signer’s monument I shot earlier this year.

Unfortunately, it’s vacation period and it’s not that crowded, si I had to stack a few shots in Photoshop in order to make it a bit busier… and avoid having cars on the frame too!

The black and white processing was done in Adobe Lightroom.

Ameyoko shopping street, Taito ward, Tokyo, Japan.

The Ameyoko shopping street was definitely one of the best moments of our visit in Tokyo. For a street photographer, this is just heaven: full of people, from the business man to the craziest fellows, full of strange, tiny places, crammed with lots of good of different kinds, all of that just under the Yamanote train line going to the Tokyo Station. It really is an incredible place, if you like street photography you could stay there for days and do not get bored even one second.

Ameyoko, or Ameya-Yokochō in its full name, is situated in the Taito ward in Tokyo, Japan, just next to the Ueno station. Its name comes from the fact that after World War II the shops here used to sell US army goods (hence the “Ame” from America in Ameyoko). This photo represent the owner of one of the almost 200 shops in the street, that really enjoyed to be photographed.

This photo was process in Adobe Lightroom, with a bit of work with dodge and burn in order to give a more 3D feel.

On a tight leash. A kid and his grandfather, playing between the water fountains in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.

A grandfather playing with his grandson between the fountains of Piata Unirii in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. Playing, but keeping him on a tight leash!

This photo was first processed in Adobe Lightroom for the basic adjustments (crop, color temperature, lens and perspective correction). Most of the work has been handled in Nik Collection Silver Efex Pro. I really enjoyed using the different structure levels in order to get a fully detailed image. It’s such a powerful tool!
